SERVICES

Service call, 6 p.m.-midnight, 6 a.m.-8 a.m.: $75.00

Service call, midnight-6 a.m. $125.00
Per-mile surcharge, one way, AFTER first 10 miles (measured via Google Maps):
$3/mi.

Labor rate, per hour, 8 a.m.- 6 p.m.: $75/hr

Labor rate, per hour, 6 p.m. – 8 a.m.: $95/hr

Pick lock, typical pin/wafer tumbler (non-high-security—please call) $8.00/cyl.

Extract broken key from front of lock (no disassembly) $12-25

Fit key from broken/worn sample: (does not include price of blank) $5 and up

Unlock auto, conventional methods: $ included in service call

“Conventional methods” include in-the-door manipulation methods (what everyone seems to like to call “jimmying”) or accessing inside controls (electrical or mechanical lock controls, inside door handles, etc.).

Unlock auto, advanced methods (in addition to applicable service call/mileage): $25-150

95% of autos can be unlocked via conventional methods. Vehicles utilizing high-security locks may require advanced methods, such as picking with specialized, often brand-specific picks, fitting a key, etc, in order to be opened safely. Vehicles with keys locked in the trunk without a working trunk release (or one deactivated electrically because of opening via conventional methods) may require advanced methods. Ask us, we’ll quote your opening as accurately as possible.

Rekey standard pin-tumbler lock, per cylinder, cylindrical locks, includes basic R & R: $10.50/cyl.

HOME / RESIDENTIAL

Need your house rekeyed? Count your cylinders, multiply by this rate, and add a service call—it’ll be pretty close. “Cylinder” is defined as anywhere a key could be inserted: a deadbolt keyed on both sides is considered 2 cylinders---a deadbolt that uses a key on one side and a “thumbturn” inside is considered one. Any keyed door (typically exterior only) in your house will have at least one cylinder, some as many as 3 or more (double cylinder deadbolt plus a keyed entry knob or lever---3 cylinders).

Fit first key by code, standard bitted keys (non high-security, tubular, etc.) $10

Need a key made for a tool box, truck box, file cabinet, auto lock, or similar that has an in-plain-view key code on it? You’ll pay this plus the price of the appropriate key blank (plus service call if we’re making said key at your location). Please note that this method only works if the code is published in a series made available to us. Most of the examples named above have published codes. Not every marking on a lock is a key code, however, so be sure to call us first with as much information as possible about the lock and container/car/thing it’s attached to before showing up with “code” in hand.

AUTO

Fit first mechanical key, most autos WITHOUT high-security milled keys: $25-75

If you need replacement car keys, you’ll typically pay for this plus a service call. Does not include the price of the key or programming, if applicable. Vehicles which require more than one key (doors and ignition operated with different keys) or with non-original equipment locks/steering wheels/etc. may be higher.
Examples :

(all examples include daytime service call within 10 miles—after hours or outside of 10 miles may be priced higher)

Ford F-series trucks, vans, SUV’s up through 1997

Ford/Lincoln/Mercury passenger cars (most) through 1996 (except Mustang GT, Taurus SHO)

GM trucks, vans (except Montana, Venture), and SUVs through 2006

GM passenger cars w/o VATS or Passkey 3 systems, “one key works all” cars

Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep vehicles w/o Sentry key system (‘grey head’ key)

Most Asian vehicles through 1998

All of the above, typical for first key: $95.00

Fit first high-security key: $150-250

Examples of cars with high-security milled keys: many “high-end” European and Asian cars such as Mercedes, BMW, Volvo, Saab, Mini, Rover, Porsche, Audi, VW, Jaguar, some Volvo heavy trucks, Pontiac GTO, also assorted Asian models, such asToyota, Lexus, Honda, Mazda Millennia, first-generation Infiniti Q45, and even Kia (Optima) and Hyundai (Azera), to name a few. Vehicles which require more than one key (doors and ignition operated with different keys) or with non-original equipment locks/steering wheels/etc. may be higher. Does not include price of key or programming, if applicable.

Extras (may be added to either of the above if equipped)

Program fee, transponder keys: $30-40

Typically charged once per session to either add a spare or replace lost keys on vehicles equipped with transponder keys. Does not include price of key.

Interrogate GM VATS system to determine VATS pellet no.: $45

Typically charged in addition to fitting first mechanical key on GM vehicles (Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac, Cadillac) equipped with VATS (Passkey I, II) anti-theft system. 1990 Corvette models may be slightly higher (not because we think you Corvette people can afford it---that year ‘vette has a particularly annoying VATS system that can take as long as 3 hours to successfully interrogate. Other GM vehicles take about 45 minutes)
